Default Fun or fight?

Hey everyone I would really like to get some feedback on this photo. I'm not sure how I feel about the processing. Is it too heavy? any tips? Also, does it look too much like fighting? These two are actually best friends and play all the time. Should I edit out that green piece in the bottom left? Is this a good picture? Contest winning? I was thinking about entering into a local contest, do you think it would have a chance? What about it could be improved?
thanks for your input

Nice capture of the moment! I like that both are animated and that you can see both of their little faces.

It doesn't look like fighting to me, but I had a dog and a cat so I am accustomed to their playful antics. (The cat was a little terror )

It does look rather dark on my screen (it can vary from screen to screen). The heavy blacks might be hiding some detail. I like that you got the background pretty dark but I do miss the detail in the subjects. Maybe you could lighten the edges of the animals a smidge, just enough to set them apart form the background?

As far as contests, they are so subjective it's hard to say what might win, but you never know unless you try right? But do be careful when entering ... ALWAYS read the terms and conditions. Many contests are "image grabs" and claim rights to your photos upon entry. Some even go as far as to take all rights upon entry. Just check out the fine print before entering and decide if the terms are ok for you.

Oh, and while it's not terribly distracting, I would probably edit out the green thing.

The picture looks good; I don’t think you should edit it though. I like the way it is. Looks like they are having a good time. I have cat just like that. Great shot!

i like the picture although it does feel a little on the dark side

possible give the brightness a bit of a bump up and it would be great

as for the contest like the others say give it a shot, just make sure you read the t&c first

It's way too dark for my tastes, and I tend to like my photos dark.

I didn't notice the green bits until you mentioned them, but now that you did, I'd get rid of them.

Contest? Well that depends. If it's a cutesy contest with winners determined by public votes, it can't hurt.

If we're talking serious, judged competition then no, not even close.
