Question Mallard in the Snow -- Distracting or Enhancing?

A general critique on this photo would be appreciated. I like that the duck is looking back, but I recognize others might not. I appreciate all commentary, as I grow and learn for each of you.

I dont think it distracts at all; it would be even more distracting if it was looking away. But I think the crop does, it would be more effective if the duck was looking into the frame, instead of being in a corner and looking out. But thats just me (: Overall I love this picture, you captured the falling snow very nicely.
