Default Claw in a Hole

I was walking around outside during my lunch break when I noticed this crawfish claw in a tree hole. No idea how it got there, but I am glad I noticed it.

How is the composition and lighting?

My wife thinks the blur is distracting.

I agree with your wife to an extent: the issue for me is the fact that the subject takes up only a very small amount of the available space. Might a crop help?

What's more distracting than the blur is that the area other than the subject is just way too bright. I'd tone that down a bit and maybe crop in some too.

Default Thanks!

I appreciate the feedback! I will keep all these things in mind in future shots.

My wife will be happy to hear this.
