Question An attempt at Wildlife photography

I'm pretty new at all this, only been into photography for 6 months or so, but I'm fairly proud of this shot, I'm interested in what I could have done to make it better so I can learn for future shots. This tiger was in the zoo and had to be shot through a fence.

Great capture...what a stunning subject...I think with some pp work this would be even better...tighter crop on the subject...also some color and contrast fixes...I think that the tiger is dark and dosent pop enough against the green bushes...

I like this shot but am wondering how it would have looked had you moved to your right and shot the tiger against the green backround only. The green to sky is a little distracting to me.

Agreed. If you didn't have the option, or to *fix* this image it's just a little clone stamp and a crop.
Quick edit to give you an idea...

Check your focus. It looks like the branches in front of the tiger were the actual focus point, not the tiger itself. Also, increasing the iso to 400 or 800, bringing the shutter speed down to 1/200s, and stopping down to around f/8 (using a smaller aperture/larger f-number) might have helped with sharpness, the slight underexposure, and that C/A in the trees.

I'm with dalmorloson, a few steps to the right might have made a big difference.

Great shot, though, and good job on getting the fence to disappear!
