Was this taken in Kuching? I think I've seen this croc before.
Also, in the future, as the forum rules say, you should be more specific about what you specifically want in terms of a critique. A general "what do you think" isn't specific enough. On to the photo at hand. To be honest, I feel there's little to do really because, in the end, this is a touristy snapshot. To me, it's a "been here, seen this" sort of photo. It's great for your photo album, but as for a really nice photograph...not so sure. maybe try it in b&w to give it more of a moody feel? I'd not place subject dead center of the frame, consider the Rule of 3rds. Knowing where this was (I think) or knowing what croc farms are like in general, I know it was about the best angle you could get, but still, the angle is a pretty standard "I'm standing here with my camera at eye level" and it's not exciting. maybe zoom in closer, get more detail or pattern? Otherwise, it's just a snapshot of a croc.. with no tail. In the end, perfectly ok for your trip photo album, but doesn't do anything for me photographically and I'm not even sure there was much more you could do with this.

Well,
First of all, sorry if I did not ask a specific question. I'm still new so I don't really know what to ask? Appreciate it that you took your time to comment on this and I know myself that this is not a very good picture. I will though take note what you have said and try to improve in my future shots. Thanks a lot again. |

Don't worry, most people miss out on reading the rules the first time
![]() It's just that with this subject, it's really difficult to get anything other than a touristy snap shot as you can't really play with the angle and positioning of yourself or the subject. You've done about as well as possible in these conditions. |
