Default Canadian Goose Flying

Goose Flying Across River

This pic was taken using a Canon Rebel XSI with a EF-S 55-250MM. This is the 4 or 5 pic. that I have taken with this camera.

I am new at taking pics. with a slr camera. Critique is most welcome if you will explain on how to do it better.

I am taking a course in digital photography for a month and half now.

Thanks

Charlie

Hi. Was there anything more specific on which you wanted feedback? The forum guide-lines suggest asking specific questions -- it helps focus the minds of those who post here. I'm no expert but a couple of general points spring to mind.

Firstly, you seem to have got your camera settings about right -- the body is quite sharp and the movement blur on the wings suggests motion quite nicely (which was presumably what you wanted). It would have been nice if you could have shared your EXIF data to allow those who post here to offer more feedback on this aspect of your picture.

Secondly, though a couple of compositional points: it's a pity we can't see the goose's face; and there's not much colour contrast between the bird and the background.

Just my 2p-worth...
