Smile Photo of my dog

Hey everyone, I'm new to this website and photography in general. I just got a Rebel T2i a couple days ago and have been trying to figure things out. I took this picture of my dog and thought it came out pretty good. I don't know if I exposed correctly or if the composition is good, so I would appreciate some feedback in helping me improve thanks!

Hi, I'm new here as well.

Cute dog. The focus on its face is dead on and extremely good. You have a good set up of the rule of thirds here, though I would have just a tad more room to the right.

There are two problems that I see with this shot. First is the very strong light coming from the glass door, it over powers the shot. The second is the table "growing" out of your dog.

The camera that you have is a very nice one and should give you a lot of fun times with your dog.

I look forward to seeing more shots from you

I agree that the light from the doors is way overpowering. I dont agree totally that the table is growing out from the dog...If you do some PP you could fix it so the background was a bit more blurred and lighten the shadows.

Thanks so much to both of you.

I totally agree with your critiques. The glass doors were an obvious problem lol, there is so much light there, but I never even noticed the table. Yeah, it does sort of look like it's growing out of him. Thanks for the help. This forum is so cool!
