Smile Young macaque staring at the photographer

This long tailed macaque was spotted among the ruins of Kellie's Castle in Perak, Malaysia. Due to its small size, I reckoned it to be an adolescent monkey. I was able to come in close to capture the portrait of this simian with a 35mm lens without it feeling intimidated by my presence. I guess it has become used to human presence in the area since a lot of tourists visit Kellie's Castle especially during the holidays.

Cropped and color corrections in Lightroom. Comments and critique are welcome.

Personal preference only. The left side is too bright thus taking away my attention from the subject.

In some ways I prefer the first picture as it really makes the eyes pop. Although yes there are some areas that are a bit too bright.

Either way I think it's a really lovely shot.

It was quite a sunny day and photo was taken around midday, so maybe that's the reason.

thank you for the comment
