Question First shot of a street Cat.

Pussy Cat

Shot with my 1st Digicam ( Canon Powershot SX130IS). This picture was taken about 10.30 A.M.

Aperture : f/5.0 Focal Length: 29.7mm
Shutter Speed: 1/100s
ISO: 80.

Please give me some helpful advice to improve my shot in future. I don't have much knowledge about digital photography. Thanks........

Shot would look cleaner if the similar-colored cat was not in the background at all.

Thanks for your comments. Except this matter (mentioned by you) how it looks? Any improvement possible by increasing or decreasing shutter speed, Aperture value etc. in this type of shot?

hard to say, since the change in shutter speed and aperture determines the artistic look of the photo, and thus communicate the artistic vision of the photographer. Personally I would use a shutter speed that would keep the main subject in sharp focus, and the background out of focus using large aperture.
