Default Help with Manual settings

I'm new to using Manual settings and I was wondering (other than the lousy angle) if adjusting the Aperture for more light or less light would I have brought out even more detail on the bird? Lousy angle was due to the fact I was in my car and getting out would have scared her away. It was an overcast day.

I'm attaching a link to the guidelines that include what you should be including in your posts. By learning your camera settings and asking something specific it will help you learn more about your photography. Thank you for doing so and happy posting!!!

I like to know the best custom color settings (an advise of it) of the canon sx30 is: the position of the contrast, the sharpness, and saturation. Myself now I put the contrast +1, the sharpness -1 and the saturation +1. Do you have experience with this settings. I like to know it. Thanks.
