Default PP - red-eye fix

My sister recently got a new dog, and I caught her in the act -- munching on a toy that wasn't meant for her!

Anyway, I didn't have a lot of time to set up this shot, and I ended up using my on-board flash, which produced a pretty strong red-eye (green, in this case, in fact), so the main area I'd like feedback on here is whether the fixes I applied to the eyes are acceptable.

Composition-wise, I shot the dog in front of the X-Mas tree, which produced a bokeh with the lights showing a pretty strong five-sided effect from the lens blades. If this is distracting, I could try to smooth them out a bit in PP. Unfortunately, upgrading to the F/1.4 or better lens will have to wait a bit...

Exif: Canon 30D, 50mm F/1.8 lens at F/2.8, ISO 250, 1/60, on-board flash fired.

In the size of image you posted, the fixes seem ok. Of course, I don't know what her eyes normally look like... but they are very dark and piercing now. It looks like it was rather low light, so I guess her pupils are wide open.

The more I look at it, something about her eyes does seem off, but I can't put my finger on it.

Thanks - if I have a chance, I'll take another shot at it. I recall seeing some "eye fixing" tutorials in the past -- maybe I can scare one of those up. What do you think about whitening the whites of the eyes a bit, too?
