Default My Dog Spud

I'm new to photography and I need constructive criticism. I really like the composition but what do you think? Also, hows the exposure? I know the glare of the tv on the floor is a little distracting, but it was difficult to get him to pose and thats as good as I could get.

EXIF info
18mm
ISO 1600
f/3.5
1/6 sec
White balance was set to flash, however I cant remember if I used the flash.

I also did a little work with the photo in Lightroom

I agree that the extra glare on the floor can be a little distracting. You did use flash, evident by the black shadow created below the dog in his chest area.

I'm surprised you got this nice of focus with a shutter speed of 1/6. This dog must have been sitting reeeealllly still!

It's a nice capture, although I would cut back on such a dark, heavy vignette in your Lightroom

This photo would have been allot better if you had been lower and more at the dogs level. Shooting down at the dog gives a distorted view. Keep that in mind when shooting animals or small children.

It looks like the flash could have used some diffusion, and it might also be worth looking at white balance - there seems to be an orange-ish cast (not just the floor coloring).
