so give me your opinion please about the 55-250mm...
i thought i had a problem in the image stabilizer; when IS is on, after i obtain focus the lens moves downwards... even on a tripod.. i tried the same lens of a friend of mine and i discovered the same....
maybe i m not so clear, but i would be glad for any feedback... thanks alot

Do you have the exif information to post for us? Knowing your camera settings could help a lot in offering you some help

The bird is nice and the blue background is nice but the blurry boat people are a big distraction ...

i think it is more the postition of the boat that causes the distraction, being so close to the bird your eyes keeps moving from one to the other. a couple of frames before with the bird flying towards the boat even flip the image where you eye is drawn to the bird first then to the boat in the back ground. If you use continious shoot the stabilizer doesnt work i use a mono pod for these sort of shots gives you great movement and stability.
