Thanks! Here is a low-resolution of the original. It was shot into the sun so there is some unfortunate wash-out; but this is one of the few times I caught her to sitting still
. The other issue I had with this photo was trying to get rid of the circular glare spot on her knee. My knowledge of Photoshop is primitive, so I tried to "spot heal" without much luck. Any suggestions?

OK, Marc, here’s my version of your Sydney.
Adjusted exposure in LR. Since the sky was blown and I wanted the focus on Sydney’s head I decided Photoshopping was in order. In Photoshop layers cloned lens flare with 100% opacity brushes of varying sizes. Another Hue and Adjustment layer for darkening the iris. Ditto for intensifying the gold in the eye. Placed a 3 pix light catch into the eye. New layer to blur the distracting background. Erased blur @ 100% in center of dog, 40% around edges and foliage, 12% where the head meets the foliage. Back to LR for the sepia toned photo with a vignette. Sharpened both lightly. ![]() ![]() I do see some pixelation on the chest. No doubt with the RAW that will not be there. If it is, then just clone over these. |

I can upload the large files if you want so that you can see the details more clearly. Since the breed has such a wonderful coat, careful sharpening is in order to bring out the multi-color sheen. |
