Looks like CA.
Chromatic aberration - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Are you using a filter on the front of the lens?
If so remove it and see how it future pics look.

You may be able to reduce it in existing pics during PPing

Hi Richard, thankyou for that.
Im not using a filter. But did have a uv on this lens and have some other oics that are as clear as a bell, maybe i should put it back on.
Will have a proper read of the link you gave me, im a new photographer so not very up on stuff yet,
Im sure it will sink in if i read it enough.
Thought i had changed a setting or something that was causing this.
Thankyou kindly for your help.

What lens are you using? Some lenses are more prone to CA than others, and adding any filters (including a UV) can introduce CA if your lens isn't prone to it, and make it worse if it is.

It seems a lot of people have the same problem with the lens. One guy even says he noticed it on film, but it's more pronounced on digital cameras. Minolta*AF 75-300 F4.5-5.6 D lens reviews

Looking at the bigger image on Flickr, I'm thinking that might be lens flare rather than CA. If that's the case, and you were using a good coated filter before, that could have prevented or minimized the effect.

Hi again,
Thankyou so much for all your help and information.
Im going to try and put the filter back on and give that a try.
I took some other photo's yesterday of a dipper in the river and the whole image is so blue and blurred at full zoom, you wouldn't even know what bird it is. It was a very bright day.
