Early Fall Butterfly

I am pretty new to shooting wildlife. I attended a class the other day and took this shot . The butterfly landed right next to me and almost seemed to pose for me. The light was bright but I took the shot anyway with no time to think just shoot. I am just looking for thoughts about it. I personally like it but I am no pro......

Nice shot, butterflies are not hard to capture once you learn where they hang out. The shot could be a little brighter and cropped tighter so there is not as much background open to view.

definately matches the fall appeal, hm?
i like the shot, the way you didn't crop out anything.
normally, people would focus on the subject and take away everything else.
it looks nice and balanced, i think, and not so awkward with the butterfly just being there.
