Default Komondor - rare Hungarian sheep dog

Thanks Jonbar for the rules, therefore I deleted some photos and would appreciate some advice.

From Animals

I chose this picture because it best shows the Komondor's unique coat and it is quite dynamic with the dog running. Unfortunately, I had to crop quite a bit because there was a lot of clutter.

EXIF:
ISO 1600
f/5
1/1000

What do you all think? I hope that's better.

/p

Cute dogs! How in the world do they see? I first saw them on TV a few years ago watching the Westminster Dog Show. I may have one of those hanging in the broom closet.

TFS.

If you are still looking for a critique here are my thoughts. I don't think the photo works other then just a snapshot. It's cropped way to tight, leaving the dog no room to run to. I looked at your other shots and I really like the close up head shot better. I think that it could look really good as a B/W image. You should shoot more shots of this dog though for sure, bet if you keep trying you can get some really cool ones. hope that helps some.

Default Awesome Dog!

I love the subject; however, I can't help but feel like this was captured with a point and shoot. It's a standard shot from the side. What if you took it from the front with a narrow depth of field? Also, dogs have so much personality; but you can't really see it without a clear view of his/her face.

Just a few pointers. either way .. I really like the picture.

Thanks for the responses. I try to crop less :-). I need to practice more with the dog running but they tend not to run very often :-).

Cheers
