Default Is the background too much?

Hi all! Took this shot at Butterfly World in Fl. Is the background too distracting? Do I need to sharpen the bird? How would you suggest removing the white in the left bottom? Help. I really like this pic but it seems to be missing something.
Thanks!

Hi, I like the photo, the only things I would say is I find the white space in the top left draws my eye away to the outside and I also find the red in the forground/ background distracting. This is only my opinion though and others will give you a better critique.

I think with some judicious cropping you could rid this shot of most of the distracting background elements.
