I'm still very new to composition myself, so take everything I say here as such.
I like you subject, but I think you may have lost the detail that told the story in the b&w conversion or the contrast (not knowing for sure as I haven't seen the colour one) If I look carefully I think i can see the kitten's shoulder standing up on the left handside, but its nearly faded into the background. This shoulder makes a huge difference in how I interpret the photo. Originally I thought the kitten was frightened,backing into the blanket and hissing. But if the shoulder and the tail is where I think they are this changes the pose to a kitten playing, maybe getting ready to pounce on a piece of string, or maybe havig just missed the piece of string? I assume that is what I'm seeing in the right hand corner? Very good capture of a kitten in that moment its mouth was open, if he was playing, I bet he wasn't still for a moment. And I do like how the b&w conversion really brings out the kitten's eyes. |
