Default American Bulldog

This is my almost 2 year old American Bulldog taken with my new 50mm 1.8 Sony lens. I am looking for any/all general critique of this photo. Thanks guys for checking it out.

There seems to be a reddish tint, probably wb settings,, I like the sharpness here. The eyes staring at the side is great and helps show his character in this pic. The close composition also a strong point too..

The red tint is actually just her skin.

No, it actually isn't. I'll clarify. While there is a bit of pink from her skin, the whole frame is overly warm / red. This can be seen in the background on the left side of the frame.

I like the shallow DoF, but it's unfortunate that the OOF part of her face is in the highlight with the in focus part in shadow. Reverse the lighting and we have a winner I think.
