Default Funny German Shephard Shot

I wish there wasn't another dog in the background, and that I got all of her huge ears in the picture.
Other than that, any comments on composition, lighting, or anything I can do to make it better?
(Remember, I'm a 14 year old, not a professional.)

Please do not use this picture anywhere else.
Thank you. (:

Hi Melissa. I am not an expert by any means, but I will offer you my newbie advice. The first thing that I notice in this photo is that the dog's tags/collar stuff seem to be coming out from its tongue. maybe it might work better to shoot the dog from a slight angle.
Cute dog though. I used to have one that looked just like that.

I do think this photo has potential.

Here are my suggestions:
** Clone-stamp out the dog sitting in the background
** Crop in so the dog is not dead-on in the center of the frame
** Experiment with curves, saturation, different filters, etc.

With the dog 's funny expression, I think doing some post-processing work to give the photo a 'funky' feel will do the trick!
