Default Can I fix this?

bird

Sorry, I don't have my EXIF info handy, but I have a question. I took this, wanting a very shallow depth of field, but once I got back to my computer and looked at all the images off of the camera I noticed that I must have been focusing just in front of the subject, which leaves the bird not as tact sharp as I want it to be. Is there any way to work with this?

Appreciate any and all comments. Only PP was square crop to remove distracting shore line.

Unfortunately, when you miss focus, there's no way to "fix" it in post processing. It can be sharpened up a little, but the edges of the bird will still be fuzzy.

That's what I thought...and was afraid of. Thanks.

Looks like another reason to head back to the beach.

There is one thing you can do, so long as you don't mind the bird being in silhouette. Select the bird however you like (pen tool probably best), then shrink the selection by a fraction of a pixel, feather it, again by a fraction of a pixel, then invert the selection and clone around it. Essentially you are cloning the blurred edges off the bird.

Or you could just go back to the beach...
