Default Composition - Is the foreground distracting?

This little "likkewaan" (lizard in afrikaans) was very curious about the camera and posed about two minutes before it runs of. It change from grey to blue when it senses danger. My question is about the grass in the foreground. I want to know if it give perspective about the size of the lizard or is it distracting? I took it in RAW format.

I think it's a cool shot. I don't find the grass in the front distracting, because its not obstructing the subject in an way. My only comment would be to maybe darken the background to increase the contrast between the subject and the background. Other then that nice job.

Nice photo! I'm a lizard guy and I really like this one. I don't find the plants in the foreground distracting at all, and really appreciate that it is in the photo for two reasons: (1) it helps give a perspective of size of the animal (2) if it were cropped out of the photo, the right front leg (lizard perspective) would be lost along with the posture of the lizard. Good job!

I don't think the grass in the foreground is distracting, however I don't think it is significant enough to show the size of the lizard. Regardless, that is a very nice shot. I took my first lizard shot the other day, what do you think?
