I actually love this! Looks very professional, and very fun.

What lighting did you use here? Also, is that a backdrop, or just a room with a red wall?

Great work :-)

I love the pic of the dog, but honestly I'm not over thrilled with the red background.. I would have choosen another colour. I got a bit blended, and the contrast seems to get a bit disturbed. But the portrait is absolutley perfect!

Cheers

I wouldn't change anything about it. I love the vibrant colour, and the very cute subject. Lovely image!

I love it. I think the red background is great and the dog's color is dark enough that the contrast works out well. It has a very serious feel to it. I think it would be fun to try something that would give a more "goofy" feel as well. Take for example, a bright yellow background. The emotions of the color yellow often go with the "goofy feel." It's just a thought.

Congrats for this nice photo and for making this dog still during the shoot.

God I hate pet photos.

Having said that, this is really good. The lighting, background, and DoF are really well done.

99% of animal photos on this site are either pet snap-shots or at best average snap shots in the wild...

THIS, this is a proper pet portrait. Well done. I just wish there were more direct eye contact though I recognize how difficult that is/would have been.

Thanks everyone for advice and critique.
@BigFuzzy: Yep, it shure was damn hard to get eye contact with the 'dog'. The dog won't sit still for half of a second....
But I found it fun to do...
