The photo appears to be out of focus. 1/6 is a very slow shutter speed and I think f/10 contributed in the shutter speed being so slow. Open up the aperture a bit, probably around f/4 and you will be able to have a faster shutter speed. What did you do in post processing? Most noticeable camera left on the dog's face, it seems a little off.

What camera mode did you have your camera set on? The only thing I can think of is that you used TV mode and had it set on a slow shutter. The mixture of 1/6 shutter, f/10, and ISO 200 is great for a low-light situation with a tripod, and it's also great if you're trying to create blur in the photo from a moving subject. With the dog sitting still in sunlight, this exposure is just too long. I think the long exposure explains for the fuzzy and out-of-focus look here.

Or - did you have it on manual focus and clicked without adjusting the focal ring because you thought it was on auto focus? LOL, I do that! A lot! :-)

Nevertheless, I suggest you experiment with P mode on your camera. Program mode is designed to give you a correct exposure by automatically setting the aperture and shutter speed to be in sync. You still have to program ISO on your own. (Or - you can just put it on auto ISO, of course.)

I really like P mode. Try it! :-)

I agree that your shutter speed was way too slow for what you were trying to achieve. I know you are new to photography (we have all been there), but my suggestion would be to try and learn the basic principals, and then experiment.
Learn the relationship between aperture, ISO and shutter speed, and practice, practice practice!
You will not learn if you shoot on program mode as this is an auto mode and you will not have to think about what you are doing, the camera will select things for you.

Rather shoot on Av (aperture priority), this will allow you to choose your aperture and the camera will select an appropriate shutter speed for you. This will give you a lot more control over your image.
By all means use program to start with, but please don't stay on it. Rather learn how to control the settings yourself.
