Default Me? A thief?

Caught this guy helping himself to fish while the park employees were feeding the other birds. He just landed on the edge of the cart and by-passed the middle-man.

I took a whole series of him, and they all came out about like this one; pretty good exposure, but the highlights on his head are a little blown out. Any suggestions on how I can tone down just the clipped portions in post production?

I like the crisp white of the bird, but I don't know if there's anything you can do to save the over-exposed areas. For next time, you might try a faster shutter speed or a smaller aperture. It looks like you had a bright, midday sun to work with. With that much harsh light, adjust your settings to not let so much in.

You could try cloning over the blown out areas.
