Default bird close up

What do you guys think of the effects on this one? I can't decide if it adds to it or takes away from it.

I find this a little soft, however a really good start. Keep hiding and shooting birds are magic. Well done.

when you say "effects" do you mean it being in b&w and the added vignette? is there something else you did?

I like the b&w conversion, it's quite good. Vigneting is ok, maybe a bit strong for my taste.

the issue I do have is that none of the bird is sharp. You can see where the sharpness was at some parts of the branch, but nothing in the bird is sharp, and that's a big no-no in wildlife photography I believe. Maybe it was b/c of some movement in the bird?

Still, well done on the b&w conversion, that's very strong.
