Cool Thy Neighbor's Cock

One of my first pics from ever since I got my first DSLR (500D) last April. This is our neighbor's fighting cock. They were just left wandering in that abandoned lot so I thought of taking some pics of them.

Camera: Canon EOS 500D
Exposure: 0.013 sec (1/80)
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 55 mm

EF-S 18-55mm kit

Flickr Photo Download: Chickens

Any suggestions guys? I really want to improve my photography so any heart breaking criticism is welcome.

Will you please call some sort of animal control to get them so they are not left starving? As far as the picture, i would like to see all of the birds and it is a little dark for me. Also, focus on their eyes

I second that, I'd try to move a little bit to the right to get the entire birds (especially the wings, that were cut in this shot)
