Default Gazing Cheetah

Hi,

I'm still learning with my SLR, and took this shot a while back at a bird sanctuary (that had a cheetah!) which I like, but is it over-exposed? How could i have got the Cheetah more sharper?

Thanks,
Mart

Nice shot,i don't think it's over exposed, and in this resolution i think it's already quite sharp. The only thing that bothers me is the gritty background,i think you could've used a lower ISO by using a larger aperture and slower shutter speed. Did you choose f/6.3 because it's your lens' sweet spot?

Thats a nice shot, Mart. If you have a photo editing program just try a little more saturation to bring out the warm glow of the coat. You will find that no matter how good your photo is from the camera there will always be a small adjustment that can be made to improve things. If it is a major adjustment then it points to the original not being a good photo.
The way you have taken the shot gives the impression that you are inches away from a very dangerous puss!

Thanks both for your advice, I was kind of rushed as they were shutting and took a couple with different settings, this one turned out best.

Unfortunately I don't have the pennies for PS, so I just used Windows Live to increase the saturation (& the temperature a tiny bit), hope that's not looked down on!
