I really love this photo!

I love the simplicity, and the lighting, I think, is perfect. Everything on him is lit up - and nothing is overblown. I think the lighting is great.

My only quip may be that I see his hip in the background. With his face the focal point, I may have taken the photo with him standing so you wouldn't see the hip in the background. Or, if you did want the photo of him laying down, I would have turned slightly to get more of his body into the photo instead of just a head-on photo.

Honestly, though, that's the only critique I can think of, and it's very minor. I do think this picture is fabulous :-)

Beautiful shot! The lighting is flattering and the focus on the eyes is spot-on. You will be in demand for pet portraits, I can tell!
One point - and it is nothing to do with the lighting or the camera work, do remember to give "looking room" more space in front of the eyes than behind. The eyes are very central in this image and there is white behind the head that could be cropped to improve the composition.

@Laurenbiz: Thank you for the tip. I also made full body pictures of this dog, but liked this one for the detail.

@Visions: Thanks! I'll try to do better cropping. I understand the "looking room" and will make a better crop.

Thank you all for the comments....
