Default American Robin - please comment!

Does this pic catch your eye in anyway? Is it interesting to you? Is there any way in which I can enhance this photo to make it more interesting? Should the Robin be centered or more off center (to the right)? Your comments would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, Yes, the picture catches my eye. I'm still a novice with lots to learn, but I think I would move the robin to the left side so that it is looking into the center of the pic instead of out of the frame.

I think either side would work, i personally actually think right side so we can see the branch split. Also it looks like maybe you could reduce the saturation of the orange a bit? bring out the yellows? something like that?

Here are some cropped options. I did reduce the saturation a bit. Which image do you like now? I'm between the 1st and 2nd, leaning more toward the 1st.

Nice picture.
I like first cropping, even if the second respects the 1/3 rule and can also be used as a backgroud on the computer. In the last crop, the branch distracts from the bird and.
Maybe also sharpen it a bit, especially the eye.

Ok, I'm choosing the first cropped pic and I've sharpened it a bit. Are there any other suggestions that would make this photo even better, such as removing the blurry branch behind the robin's head. Unfortunately, I do not have Photo Shop, so I'm not sure it would turn out well if I tried.

You are right, the branch behind is distracting, it is because it lies on one of the eye-catching spots defined by the rule-of-thirds. Maybe you could try to reduce a bit brightness of the background (make a layer which selects the background and adjust the brightness/contrast).

Hope this helps.
