Default white tail deer

How lucky to get such a shot. Deer are so flighty they are gone almost as soon as they are sighted. There are a couple of things I could mention but I will stick to just one and that is the composition. When lining up a special subject like this try to visualize the grid pattern of the thirds (one of the "bendable" rules of Photography). Aim to get your subject on or near the cross of one of the horizontal and vertical lines and looking INTO the picture.
Put your hand up to your monitor as you look at your deer picture and block off the left thick tree trunk. Now your deer is more to the left of the picture and makes it a stronger composition. Does it look better to you?
