Default Wagtail - Cropping Advice Please?

Here is a shot I took yesterday at the local pond. Because he was such a quick little fella, I didn't have any time to try and make a composition, I just tried to get him in focus!

As you can see I have plenty of spare space, so if you have any ideas as to the best crop for this photo I would appreciate your input! Thanks.

Pied Wagtail

Camera: Canon EOS 450D
Exposure: 0.005 sec (1/200)
Aperture: f/9.0
Focal Length: 500 mm
ISO Speed: 200

I'd just crop pretty tight, portrait, bird at approx bottom 1/3. There's nothing in the background worth keeping.

Nice job with the focus.

Thanks for the response. Should there be more background in front or behind, or should I just keep it roughly in the middle? Cheers.

Crop it to all the in focus stuff at the bottom and about an inch of unfocused ground above.

Thank you for your thoughts. I am going to play about with this over the weekend.

Cheers
