Here's a simple shot of a dear old boy. My first post to this forum!
Just trying to get a well-balanced photo of a favorite subject, in his own habitat. Please feel free to comment on the picture quality, setting and cropping, or anything else that works against the shot. ... Camera: Sony DSLR-A100 Exposure: 1/250 Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 35 mm Exposure: 0.00 ISO Speed: 320 Flash: Did not fire Last edited by clebio; 11-02-2010 at 06:50 PM. |

I like it. I like all the diagonal lines and the blocks of worn color. The kitty is cute too, looks like he is keeping a watchful eye :-)
As far as critique, I'm not sure I would change much. I might deepen the colors a bit or add a bit of contrast to bring out some of those great textures (but not enough to overpower your subject). One other note is the balance seems a bit amiss but I can't quite put my finger on it ... may because the subject is almost centered, almost on a third, but not quite? Anyway, I do like it. It was well seen and taken.

The only thing I would do different - to balance the photo - is moving the camera more down to his level - so were not looking down at him. I think you could of still kept the lines in the porch and house - which I think are outstanding.
