Default Pretty Puppy

Ok, so she's not exactly a puppy - she's 3yrs old now hehe.... But I just had to post this shot up for you - I'm not asking for any particular CC, but I'm open to it, which is why I posted it in this section, rather than the SYS...

SS: 1/20
f/4
ISO 800
WB - customised
Focal length: 27mm

All I've done in photoshop is cropped the photo slightly....

Oh, the "ask a specific question police are going to get you!"

Cute "diva" pose and nice composition, but overall it is too dark. You've got some strong (window?) light on the right though so you'd have to lighten the face selectively.

Very cute pup!

In addition to what Jim said, it helps to pay attention to backgrounds. Here, the orange area in the lower right and the lines (of a cabinet?) in the background are distracting to me. Better to have a background that's more uniform and neutral (grass or a solid white wall, for example) and/or that's completely out of focus.

Getting good photos of pets isn't easy. But with some practice and an eye for the little details, it can be done.

Thanks guys! She is very much a Princess - right down to the diamonties on her collar LOL!!!!!

Yeah, I had the kitchen window up behind her to the left & the (open) back door behind her to the right..... But it was one of those impromtue photo opportunities that came up while I was taking photos of my son drawing - she didn't want to be ignored hehe.....

I really do need to start thinking about my backgrounds more though!

The hair flying everywhere is great, but I would have off-centered it to the left.

soo cute!!!

I agree with the guys above...selective lightening of the face, and maybe b/w conversion or a crop to get rid of the orange spot?

Nice perspective!

I agree with the others, and you should get rid of the color cast as well. If you look at thr RGB histograms you will see they are not even.
