Hurt, no. Wet muddy and very itchy, yes. For this shot:
I had taken several shots from the same vantage point--a wooden float about 3 feet out from the bank in this wetland. At this time of year the water there isn't but about 1 1/2 to 2 feet deep. I crouched down to get behind the grass, and took this shot. Then promptly lost my balance and fell backwards. I landed on the very edge of the float and went backwards into the water. Camera high in the air, of course, not a drop on it thank goodness. So I get up, with mud and ick and dirty water covering the back half of me from head to toe (literally) and called it a night. I had to walk back to my truck, about 1/2 a mile. The mosquitoes really loved me and I got about 50 bites. AND, I didn't have a towel or sheet so I had to get my truck seat filthy and wet for the 10 mile drive home. I sure wish the photo was better for all that trouble!
I've also gotten poison ivy more than once while taking photos. But I'm really susceptible to it anyway...
