The only advice I can really give is to try and look at your photos the way a client would. Look at it from the buyer's perspective.
I remember how my whole view of how to put together a resume changed drastically after I was handed a stack of 300 of them and told to pick five candidates for interview. And with creative writing, all I have to do is put my reader's hat on, and slashing whole chapters becomes dead easy.
I'd say look for the photos with the strongest, clearest, and FASTEST impact. Think of how you flip through albums or books, or chose a movie at the theatre. How much time and deliberation do you spend on that choice? How do you pick which one you want to spend money on?
