While I thought the article itself was good (and I urge anyone who wanst to make money shooting to subscribe to APE, it's a great blog), I especially posted this for the comments to the article. I strongly encourage reading those comments before trying to engage in any more debate.

Most importantly, the stories in the article and many of the comments are from real people who are in the real world and trying to make a living as photographers. They are not just guessing, assuming, and projecting; this is what is actually happening to them. They're speaking from experience. Anyone looking to do the same is well served by absorbing what they have to say.
