If somebody can see your picture on their computer it isn't safe from "borrowing". The HTML code of the page will give clues as to where to download it, a copy will be stored in the computers "browser cache" and there is always the screenshot technique.
One thing you can do, even though it doesn't directly protect your pictures, is to respect other people's copyright and encourage others to do the same. Promote respect and little bit of it might come back your way.
