I've had to do this before where I perform a super crop. One thing that helped mine was zooming in even further than yours AND applying levels and curves in PS so bright white that detail was lost and all I ended up with were outlines of beautiful eyes nose and lips. Mine looked a little more "on purpose" as a crazy edit, rather than a tightly cropped bad shot. If you try that edit, re-post. I'd like to see how it came out.

where others may see this 'distraction' as a problem, in this case the face is so perfectly plain (physically, technically and emotionally that it benefits from a little 'distraction'. If it weren;t for the shadow it would just be another plain high key face.
if anything for me, the more i look at it, i don't like the width of the crop. it stretches her face. i would probably keep the height constant and add in a fat chunk of space to the left of the image.
