Really. Mate that is the part that makes it a WOW photo! the blow out is the high contrast, that really packs a punch. I have to agree, it could prove making h/c quite hard for you. But mate, take it from me. That is what high contrast is all about. Having blow outs...
I was the same earlier this year, i took a photo, in the beach series i showed a few weeks ago (still on my flickr if u wanna see what i mean, its called Beach 5). It is one where the whole sky is blown out. Because it was looking directly into the sun, and the whole sky just blew out, and i couldnt afford to make another print and manually burn it, lol. Film for ya... But i was about to toss it out, when one of my classmates stopped me, and started telling me how stupid i was. He said it is a wonderful photo. Said it reminds him of Ansell Adams. he thinks it was the best one in my series....
Now i still dont think it was an awesome photo, but i see some of what he, and alot of others have said. It had really good contrast now, especially on the rocks, which unfortunatly didnt show up at all in the scan. But what im trying to show you, is that sometimes a photo u think is blown out, or useless, is really an awesome photo. Sometimes it just takes another pair of eyes to see it.
Which is a really roundabout way of saying, mate, nice photo! lol
