The shot needs something in the foreground, IMHO, and the girl works well here.

As for myself, I try to be considerate of other people taking shots if I would be placing myself in the mid- to near foreground. If I'd only be in the background then I don't think taking any special care would be warranted (plus I'd have to move a looong way to get out of shot!)

When I'm taking a shot, I'll just wait to take the shot. I've got plenty of time and digital is cheap.
