I don't have a flickr account and I wont be getting a flickr account either. I use a different site, am unsure as to whether the requirements fit here but I'm happy with it. I've been a member there for years now. It's more for sharing your photos with friends and family I think.
If I have to submit photos, I'm happy with the thumbnail attachment, it seems to have opened up for me fine although some photos aren't shown as good as the way they look in their original size ie. my best photo for 2009 contribution.
As for someone saying earlier in the forum, make it mandatory everyone uses flickr, I think if you did that you'd be losing some ppl, me being one of them. |
I agree. I don't use flickr and don't intend to.
When uploading an image, maybe there should be a size limit. Also, if an image is too big, can't the moderators remove it, or notify the 'uploader'?
I just joined DPS and love it. I hope it won't end up turning away non-flickr users and start charging.
