The macro lenses work better because you can fill the frame better. You could try to blow a larger bubble and use a larger softbox. Another tip is to crop the frame tighter...btw I cropped almost all of my shots even tho the lens says to be "macro" (1:2).

Can you give me a approx measure of detergent (I used some liquid detergent and when that diddnt work I tried Oxy Clean) and water. I couldnt get my bubbles big enough. Just a bunch of small ones

I used the dish washing liquid, but I don't remember the exact measurements - maybe 5:1 water to detergent. The key is to blow a lot of these little ones and then pick one, stick a straw in it and blow it as large as it can get (draw the straw out slowly). In my experience these large bubbles could last at least cca 10 seconds.... If it burst sooner try changing the detergent/water ratio or change the type of detergent... Hope this helps!
