Default Getting some ice in the juice

Hi,

I've saw some pictures that people take on the water so I've tried a little trick with some juice and some ice.
The 2 questions that I have:
1. Which one looks better, the cropped one or the original one.
2. How could I get a better focus of the picture? What I've did was AF on the glass and then turned on the MF and adjust it a little, in my viewfinder looked ok, but it seams that is still not so good focused.

Info about the original photo:

Camera: EOS 50D
Aperture: f/4
ISO: 2000
Exposure: 1/320
Focal length: 55mm

or

thank you
Ivian
