I have both... MacBookPro and a couple of Windows based machines... They all do stuff ok... you know, they all crash from time to time.. Mac looks better, Windows crashes more [just because of the way the OS works...or doesn't] ....get what you can afford, get what you are happy with using... do NOT be swayed by people telling you that macs are better or windows machines are easier to use etc etc... go play in a macshop... they'll let you use one all day if need be... see what you think - software costs.. you have windows stuff as someone else mentioned... there are some ripper windows machines out there these days... [i'm still staying away from Vista... it's flakier than a big flake bar] ...that said, i've just upgraded to Leopard despite the warning - and - I love it... no jpg issues... no closing the lid issues... it all works great...
