There are three categories that I see...
- Freelancing (I hate that word): thousands of my pictures have sold.
- Hired to take portraits: I've made some money this way.
- Pictures I've taken without first being hired: Never sold a single one, but I've never tried to sell them either.
Where I make money with photography is traveling regionally to take pics at events. I was just down in Tulsa, OK last weekend (all expenses paid plus daily minimums) and will be going to Branson, MO this coming weekend (all expenses paid plus daily minimums). I have ideas that float around in my head all the time about how to make money with photography, but either don't have the time or the drive to actually do it.
