I had a black blanket covering the couch and had the ornaments lying/sticking/hanging-ish off the part your back sits against (clear as mud huh?!) I had to run fishing line through the ornaments and hang the yardstick through them over the back of the couch to help keep them in place. I had great natural light and since it was a slow shutter that helped too. Oh ya, the camera was on a tripod so I could zoom easier. Sorry if TMI
