I used Photoshop.
Levels to overall lighten. I think I used a simple s curve, too.
Smart sharpen, just a bit. I wanted to concentrate on the faces since they were most important, so I used an action from Pioneer Woman called Sharpen THIS (it's in Set 2). I enlarged the area to get in close and sharpened pixel by pixel, with a little extra in the eye area, changing the opacity when needed so it wouldn't look too oversharpened.
I used the Dodge tool on the face of the woman on the right, again getting in close and lightening a few pixels at a time. Also tried to dodge the whites of eyes so they stood out more.
At the end I used the free version of Noiseware set on default.
This was all relatively quick since I used an action and didn't touch the background.
