I've been taking photos for as long as I can remember. I was all about taking as many shots as I can for memory's sake (and I'll probably still photograph this way for vacations
), but recently I've started paying attention to things like composition, colours, and any fine detail you can think of. So am I new to photography? Not really. Am I new to the artistic and technical aspect of it? Definitely, yes.
I was working with a point and shoot for a long time until I recently splurged on a D300 and a 50mm lens. I haven't actually gotten any great use out of my new camera yet so I hope to get some ideas and inspiration from everyone here and hopefully some critiques one day. Speaking of which, I'd like to add that I thoroughly enjoy the critique forums on DPS. I am on several other forums that do critiques but I find this forum to be the most active and the most helpful. I'm glad to have found this place.
